Your wedding ceremony is an important event which will probably be the most signifcant emotional minutes of your life.
When you have set the date, time and venue for your ceremony, it is then time to consider your Celebrant and to commence the process of completing the legalities and creating your ceremony. Couples are required to submit to the Celebrant:
- Proof of identity and evidence of age - Birth Certificate
- Decree of Divorce / Death Certificate - if previously married
- Full Names of two witnesses - witnesses are required to be over 18 years of age or older
- Lodge of Notice of Intended Marriage
To fulfil the requirements set down in the Marriage Act 1961:
Notice of Intended Marriage is to be given not less than one month and one day before the wedding, and no more than eighteen months before the ceremony.
